How This Started (The Honest Version)
Back in 2017, I was a software engineer working 60-hour weeks and dreaming about financial freedom. Like a lot of people, I thought day trading would be my ticket out. Spoiler alert: I was dead wrong. In my first six months, I turned a $5,000 account into about $1,800. Ouch.
The problem wasn’t just my strategy (though that was definitely part of it). The problem was information. Every “review” site I found was either completely generic, written by someone who clearly never used the tools, or so obviously biased toward expensive products that it made me sick.
I’d spend hours researching stock screeners, charting platforms, and analysis tools—reading the same regurgitated content across dozens of sites. None of them actually answered the questions I had: “Does this actually work for day trading?” “Is the real-time data worth the extra $50/month?” “Will this interface make me want to throw my laptop out the window?”

It took me another two years of trial and error before I actually became consistently profitable. During that time, I tested pretty much every stock screener on the market. Some were incredible. Some were absolute garbage. Most were somewhere in the middle.
In late 2023, after one too many conversations with traders who’d wasted money on tools that didn’t fit their needs, I finally said “screw it” and launched this site. The goal was simple: tell people the truth about what actually works and what doesn’t, based on real experience, not affiliate commissions.
Our Journey

Started trading with $5,000 and immediately lost most of it. Realized I needed better tools and started obsessively testing every stock screener I could find.

Finally achieved consistent profitability after refining my strategy and finding the right combination of tools. Started keeping detailed notes on what worked and what didn’t.
🚀 Launch
Launched Stock Screeners Guide after countless traders asked for honest recommendations. Started with reviews of the 10 platforms I knew inside and out.
📈 Growth
Expanded to cover 20+ platforms and added comprehensive guides on screening strategies. The site helped thousands of traders find the right tools for their needs.

Continuing to test new platforms, update reviews regularly, and provide honest insights. Still trading daily and still using the exact tools we recommend.

Hey! I’m Matt, the guy behind this site. I spent 10 years as a software engineer before transitioning to full-time trading in 2021. I started trading in 2017, blew up my first account (classic), spent two years learning the hard way, and finally cracked the code to consistent profitability. These days, I trade 4-6 hours a day and spend the rest of my time testing platforms, writing reviews, and helping other traders avoid the mistakes I made. I’m not a guru selling courses—just a regular person who figured some stuff out and wants to share it. When I’m not staring at charts, I’m probably hiking, reading sci-fi novels, or debugging why my home automation setup stopped working again.
